What Is The Soul Box Project and Why It Matters?

The Madeleine Parish & School has been very proud to announce a project named The Soul Box Project which is a national community art project raising the concern about the gunfire epidemic. The Project began on 12th November 2025 and the project consists of displays of hundreds of 3 inch cubic origami boxes which represents persons killed or injured by gunfire and the majority of it was by suicide.

The project was created by Leslie Lee who is a studio artist who wanted to take action after this gunfire event in 2017. The Importance of Soul Box Project shall be checked out through the given post and the motive is to honor the victims.

What Is The Soul Box Project

The Soul Box Project is the community based art initiative which raises the awareness of the US Gun Violence epidemic through the creation of thousands of small and hand folded paper origami boxes. Thousands of boxes have been created in this and each of the boxes represents the person being killed or injured by gunfire and offers a tangible visual representation of the scale of the crisis.

The project was initiated by the Madeleine Parish & School which is a national level community art project and has been raising awareness for the scale of the US gunfire epidemic.
