One individual panel holds space for 98 people killed or injured by gunfire in the U.S. But each panel represents so much more.
Collectively, people from across the country devote about 24 hours folding the 98 Soul Boxes on each panel. Volunteers in our workshop spend another 8 hours assembling the materials, arranging the Soul Boxes and tying them onto each panel.
On October 17-18, 365 Soul Box panels will form the centerpiece of the largest-ever Soul Box Project exhibit on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Visitors will get up close to almost 800 linear feet of Soul Boxes displayed 4 feet high. They’ll view more than 35,000 unique Soul Boxes, each with a victim’s name or a message from a Soul Box-maker from around the country.
On October 17 - 18 , 2020 we will bring up to 200,000 Soul Boxes to the National Mall. You can join the procession and volunteer at the event.
For $600 you can sponsor a 2- x 4-foot panel of 98 Soul Boxes. You can join the thousands of Soul Box-makers, the corps of workshop volunteers, and other donors who have already added their voice to The Soul Box Project.
All panel sponsors received by September 15, 2020 will be acknowledged in the exhibit on the National Mall. All panel sponsors will be listed on our donor page on our website. Contact us with questions.
