SOUL BOX PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Soul Box Project is a national community art project raising awareness of the U.S. gunfire epidemic by counting and honoring victims. The Project is collecting one hand-folded origami Soul Box for every person killed or injured by gunfire in the U.S. since 2014 and will display tens of thousands of these Boxes together in massive art installations in public spaces around the country. MISSION
The Soul Box Project raises awareness of the U.S. gunfire epidemic by counting and honoring victims, offering healing participation to those seeking solace, and providing dramatic visual support for all initiatives working for a safer, more civil society.
The Soul Box Project needs an upbeat, flexible Outreach Coordinator to join our growing team. Every day we get requests from a school or group wanting to participate and we don’t have the staff to keep it all straight!
You can help us educate and coordinate public and community groups to raise awareness of the Project and engage more Box makers and exhibit helpers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in collaboration with the Soul Box team, the Outreach Coordinator will:
REQUIREMENTS
This position is estimated to be approximately 10 hours/week paid and possibly additional volunteer hours. Out-of-pocket expenses paid. You will work from your own space with occasional staff meetings in SW Portland.
